The Confident Esthetician

The Wall Street Journal has an interesting report on a recently-updated Bureau of Labor Statistics study. This study shows that the average person changes careers seven times in his or her lifetime.

Is the person on the search for happiness or looking for something he or she loves?

I think we are pretty lucky to be in the beauty industry since most of us “love what we do.” There is no greater feeling than knowing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing in life. You are in an industry that you love, and you’re passionate about making others look and feel beautiful, but yet there are still struggles with success.

What is holding you back from developing your dream business?

During coaching sessions with estheticians, I find low self-esteem and lack of confidence keep showing up as roadblocks, so I wanted to share a few words. Is a lack of self-confidence holding you back from creating something magnificent in your practice?

How do you become a more confident esthetician? If you’re like me, you’ll need constant reminders to keep yourself on the success track. I tap into my “three C’s” whenever I get stuck, and the combination gets me out of my rut every time.

CLARITY + CONVICTION + COMMITMENT = CONFIDENCE

CLARITY – What do you want for your esthetic business? Be very clear with details. What would you like your business to look like? What kind of clients do you want to attract? What kind of money do you want to make? Write down what it is that you want and start to visualize the outcome. What would it feel like to have this success?

CONVICTION – You must believe without a doubt in your mind that you can truly achieve what you want. This is the hard part. I admit it. It is difficult to believe in something that you can’t see and feel yet. It will take strong conviction. You must agree to believe in yourself.

COMMITMENT – Once you have established belief, make a plan of action. Make a binding commitment with yourself to bring what you want into fruition. If you remain consistent with belief in yourself and stay committed to your plan, you will notice positive shifts start to take place. Your level of commitment is the action required to boost your self-confidence levels tremendously.

You have a unique combination of abilities because there is no one else like you. I know this sounds like a cliché, but it really is true.  Have a clear vision of what you want. Believe in yourself, and stay committed to your action plan

Be prepared to act. The truth is: If you wait to do something before you feel completely confident, you’ll never do it. So I believe that in order to harness self-confidence you must have clarity, conviction, and commitment nailed down.

It’s your turn to create your legacy, and only you can make it happen.
